									<p><strong>Abstract</strong>
</p>
<p>Is there a worldview that can be assumed behind a number of exorcism accounts in the Synoptic Gospels? If so, what does it consist of and how does that relate how human beings are understood? The lecture focuses on the issue of where, according to Second Temple Jewish tradition, evil spirits come from and, on the basis of this, suggests ways in which an answer to this question is theologically significant.</p>
